The Interview Process
At Vulcan, we set the bar high for employees. Peak performance is an expectation.
Projects are usually fast-paced, high-volume and ever-changing. But we pride ourselves on choosing the best candidate for each position—talented individuals who challenge themselves to deliver high-quality work in every situation. As a common denominator, qualities that lead to success at Vulcan include adaptability, curiosity and a can-do attitude.
Initial Contact
Our corporate recruiters will contact candidates whose resumes align well with requirements of our job description. First, they will schedule a telephone interview. This conversation will be conducted between the candidate and the recruiter, with a possible secondary telephone interview with the hiring manager. Your recruiter will serve as your primary contact throughout the interview process.
On-Site Interviews
We see the interview process as an opportunity for mutual exploration. We're interested in learning how your past experiences and accomplishments may map into the available position. We may ask for prior work samples or request that you do some problem-solving (i.e., on a whiteboard) while you're here.
If interest is mutual following the telephone interview, a personal on-site interview (or multiple interviews) will be conducted at Vulcan. On-site interviews may include the hiring manager, team members, and other internal partners.
