In 2002, Paul G. Allen reopened the doors of the old St. Paul's Hospital in London's celebrated Covent Garden neighborhood, revealing a new state-of-the-art, 60,000 square foot creative center. The Hospital Club is now one of London's most important creative communities, providing a professional and social hub to those working in the film, television, music, advertising, contemporary art and design, publishing and journalism, interactive media, theatre and fashion industries.
The Hospital houses a high-definition television studio, music recording facilities, art gallery, public restaurant, the Origin Bar and Dining Room, and a private members' club containing bars, a screening room, member's restaurant, private dining room, game room, meeting rooms and library.
The Hospital aims to enhance and support the careers of those who seek to make their mark in the media and arts worlds. The Hospital provides them with a framework, opportunities and guidance which recognizes and advances their potential. Successful examples of this include The Hospital Mentoring Scheme, The Hospital Creative Awards and The Hospital Reel Talent Short Film Awards. The Hospital Group Ltd. represents the first investment by Paul Allen in the UK.
